What's the catch?

"What's the catch?" Here's our honest answer.

Why we're giving our gold jewellery away after 34 years, and the questions you're probably too polite to ask.

If you've just read "free gold jewellery", you're probably thinking one of these: "Is this a scam?" "There must be a subscription hidden somewhere." "Nobody gives gold jewellery away."

We don't blame you one bit. We'd think the same.

So we've written out the questions you're most likely to have, with a straight answer to each. If something isn't covered here, write to us and one of us will reply.

First, why

Why are you giving it away?

After 34 years, we're retiring.

That leaves us with shelves of gold pieces still in their boxes. Necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings. We could sell them off cheaply in bulk, or let them go to women who will actually wear them.

That wasn't a hard choice.

The money question

So what do I actually pay?

Only the shipping. Every piece in the gold collection is $0. At checkout, the shipping cost is worked out automatically for your address, and that is the only amount you pay.

The jewellery: $0

Shipping: calculated at checkout, shown before you pay

Anything else: nothing

Is there a subscription or something I'll be charged for later?

No. There's no subscription, no membership and no "trial". You pay once at checkout and that's the end of it. And if you change your mind, you can cancel your order within 8 hours.

If it's free, is it any good?

Fair question. These are 18K gold plated pieces, the same ones that sat in our glass cabinets with a price tag on them. Being free doesn't make them any different.

The one thing everyone worries about with plated jewellery is the colour wearing off. So we put our name on it: every piece comes with a Lifetime Colour Warranty. If the colour fades, contact us and we'll sort it out.

The practical questions

Can I order more than one piece?

Yes, please do. That's the whole point. Mix necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings in one order. You could pick a few for yourself and a few for a daughter, sister or friend. Every piece is still $0.

How does it arrive?

Each piece goes into its own little box, packed by hand, and sent with tracking. Once it's on its way, you can follow it on our Track Your Order page with your tracking code.

What sizes are the rings?

Every ring has a "Ring Size" button on its page that opens our size chart, so you can choose the right fit before you order.

The last question

Why should I trust you?

You don't have to take our word for it. Read the reviews, look at the pieces, and if anything feels off, close the page. We'd rather you were sure.

But if you've been wanting a nice gold necklace or bracelet and kept telling yourself "not now, there's always something else to pay for", this might be the time.
