Copper Problems
12 little frustrations women over 50 are quietly solving — with one piece of solid copper
Fiddly clasps, rings that won't fit, jewellery that fades. Here's why so many women switch to copper and never take it off.

Somewhere after 50, jewellery starts to feel like more effort than it's worth. Clasps get fiddly. Rings fit in the morning and not in the afternoon. The pretty bracelet from last year has already turned grey.
So a lot of it ends up in the drawer.
But for over 3,000 years, women have worn one simple thing every day without a second thought: a band of copper on the wrist. No clasp. No coating. Nothing to fuss over.
We're Jenny & Sue. Below are the twelve frustrations we hear about most, and why so many women put copper on and never take it off.

Tiny clasps that take three attempts
Lobster clasps. Spring rings. Little hooks you can't see without your glasses, behind your own wrist.
An open cuff has no clasp at all. You slide it on through the gap, side-on, in one easy movement. Taking it off is just as simple.
No fiddling. No asking someone to do it up for you.

The ring that fits at breakfast and not by dinner
Fingers change size through the day. Heat, humidity, a long walk, the seasons. A ring that slid on in the morning can feel tight by the afternoon, and loose again on a cold night.
Our copper rings are open and adjustable. A gentle press with your thumb makes them a touch bigger or smaller, in seconds.
One ring. Every finger, every season.

Bangles that slide off or pinch
Most bracelets come in one size and hope for the best. Too loose and it slides over your hand. Too tight and it leaves a mark by lunch.
Our copper cuffs are adjustable. Copper is a soft metal, so you can gently ease the ends a little closer or wider until it sits just right on your wrist.
Fit it once. Then forget it's there.

That icy shock of metal on a winter morning
Steel and silver can feel freezing when you put them on. It's one reason so much jewellery stays in the drawer through winter.
Copper is one of the best heat conductors on earth. It takes on the warmth of your skin within moments, so it feels comfortable almost straight away.
It's the first thing women mention when their piece arrives. It feels warm.

Jewellery that turns grey after a few months
Cheap plated pieces look lovely in the photo. Then the thin coating rubs off and you're left with dull grey metal underneath.
Solid copper has nothing to peel. It's the same metal all the way through. Over time it deepens into a warm patina, and a soft cloth brings the shine straight back.
No coating. Nothing to wear off.

Jewellery that's too good to actually wear
So much jewellery lives in a box, saved for weddings and birthdays that come around twice a year.
Copper is made to be lived in. The garden, the grandkids, the beach, the shops. It doesn't mind a bit of dirt, and it only gets more character with wear.
Put it on in the morning. Leave it on.

When your jewellery box doesn't feel like you anymore
Trends move fast, and a lot of what's in the shops seems designed for someone half your age.
Copper is timeless. Its warm tone suits silver hair, sun-kissed skin, linen, denim and your good dress alike. Hammered cuffs, engraved bangles, simple rings, statement earrings.
Understated or bold. It always looks like you.

Jewellery that's pretty but means nothing
Most accessories are made to be bought, worn a few times and replaced.
Copper has been worn for over 3,000 years. Egyptians, Romans and generations of women after them wore a band of copper every day and passed it on to their daughters.
When you wear it, you're part of one of the oldest jewellery traditions there is.

Summer sandals and nothing to finish the look
Aussie summer means bare feet, thongs and sandals from November to March.
A fine copper anklet catches the sun on the beach, on the verandah and at the Sunday market. It's adjustable, light, and easy to forget you're wearing.
The little detail that makes a simple outfit feel finished.

The present that never gets worn
Candles, scarves, another mug. Most gifts are used once and put away.
Copper jewellery gets worn every day. It suits every age, it's adjustable so size is never a guessing game, and it feels personal without being complicated.
For your mum, your sister, your best friend. Or yourself.

Wearing something nobody ever asks about
Plain chains and studs blend in. Nobody stops to ask where you got them.
Copper catches the eye. The warm glow and hand-finished detail are different enough that friends lean in and ask.

Fast fashion that breaks before the season ends
Snapped chains. Bent clasps. Stones that fall out. Then back to buy another one.
Solid copper doesn't rust, peel or break down. A piece bought today can be worn for decades and handed down, darker and richer for the years it's been worn.
Buy it once. Keep it for good.

Here's the catch: most "copper" jewellery isn't copper
Scroll any online marketplace and you'll find hundreds of "copper" bracelets for $8, $12, $15.
Most of them are zinc, brass or steel with a thin copper-coloured coating on top. It looks the part, until it wears off.
| Plated "copper" | Solid 99.9% copper |
|---|---|
| Coated base metal: zinc, brass or steel | Pure copper all the way through |
| Coating wears off in months | Lasts decades. Patinas. Gets better. |
| A magnet pulls on it | A magnet does nothing |
| Never leaves a mark | Can leave a faint green mark, a sign it's real |
| Fixed size | Adjustable to your wrist or finger |
Some of our bracelet designs have small magnets set into the ends on purpose. Test those on the band, away from the magnets.

You buy it once, and it outlives you
Here's the last frustration it solves: buying cheap things that break. Pure copper doesn't rust and doesn't break down. It slowly darkens into a rich patina that's unique to the woman wearing it.
Prefer the bright shine? A soft cloth, or a little lemon and salt, brings it straight back.
This isn't something you replace. It's something you pass down.

Before you choose your piece
Is it really solid copper?
Yes. Our pieces are 99.9% pure copper, not plated. Hold a fridge magnet to the band when it arrives: solid copper won't move. A few bracelet designs have small magnets in the ends on purpose, so test those on the band itself.
Will it turn my skin green?
It can leave a faint green mark on some skin. That's copper reacting with natural moisture, and it washes off with soap and water. Plated pieces never do it, because there's no real copper touching you.
How do I get the right size?
Our cuffs, bangles, rings and anklets are adjustable. Gently ease the ends of a cuff closer or wider, or press an open ring with your thumb, until it sits comfortably.
How do I keep it shiny?
Copper naturally darkens into a warm patina over time. If you prefer the bright shine, rub it with a soft cloth, or a little lemon juice and salt, then rinse and dry.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are processed in 1–3 working days and delivery takes 5–12 working days on average. Shipping is free across Australia.
