7 Things We Wish We'd Known About Copper Years Ago
Sue's mum had one piece of jewellery she never took off. A plain copper band, a bit dented, gone dark brown with age.
We used to think it was old-fashioned. We bought cheap gold-coloured bracelets from the shops instead. They looked nice for a month, then turned our wrists grey.
"Buy the real thing once," she'd say, "and you'll never need to buy it again."
She was right. It just took us far too long to listen.
Today we run a small Australian shop selling solid copper jewellery. These are the 7 things we wish someone had told us sooner.
1. Most "copper" jewellery online isn't actually copper
This one shocked us. A lot of the cheap "copper" bracelets you see online are steel or zinc with a thin copper-coloured coating on top. Within weeks the coating rubs off and the grey metal shows through.
There's an easy way to check. Hold a fridge magnet to it. Real copper isn't magnetic, so nothing happens. If it sticks, there's steel inside.
Everything we sell is 99.9% solid copper. (Some of our bracelets have small magnets set into the ends on purpose, so just test the band itself.)

2. You can wear it wherever feels right
Sue's mum always wore hers on her right wrist. Some women prefer a ring on the hand they use most. Others love an anklet they forget they're wearing.
There's no right or wrong. Most of our pieces are adjustable, so you just gently open or close them until they sit comfortably.
3. It asks nothing of you
No batteries, no charging, nothing to remember. You put it on in the morning and forget about it. It comes to the garden, the shops and the grandkids' footy.
Copper warms to your skin in minutes, so it never feels cold. Over time it slowly goes a deeper brown. A soft cloth brings the shine back if you like it bright.
4. Women don't stop at one
We noticed this early on. Someone buys a bracelet for herself. A few weeks later she's back for a ring. Then one for her sister. Then her daughter.
We never asked anyone to do that. It just happens. So far 1500+ customers have left us a review, with an average of 4.7 out of 5.
5. Where you buy it matters
On the big marketplaces, what arrives doesn't always match the photo. And when something's wrong, good luck finding a real person to talk to.
We only sell through our own shop. We check what we send, we answer every email ourselves, and if something isn't right you deal with us directly.
6. It started with bracelets. Now it's much more.
When we started we had a handful of bracelets. Then customers kept asking: "Do you have a ring to match?" "Anything for the ankle?"
So we kept going. Today there are over 140 copper designs: cuffs, bracelets, rings, anklets and matching sets. The one that surprised us most is how many women fall for the pretty floral designs. They're the ones people buy as gifts too.
7. Trying it costs you nothing if it's not for you
We wish we'd tried copper years earlier, so we've made it as easy as we can:
- Free shipping anywhere in Australia
- 30 days to send it back unused if it's not right
- Pick any 3 pieces for $99 (one for you, two to give away)
Flow Copper Bracelet — $49.95 Adjustable. Lovely on its own, or as one of your 3.

Please don't wait as long as we did
Good solid copper is harder to get than it used to be, and we only have limited stock of each design. When a style sells out, it can take a long time to come back, if it comes back at all.
If there's a piece you've had your eye on, now's a good time.
