10 Reasons Why Copper
10 reasons why women across Australia are switching to solid copper jewellery — and never taking it off
3,000 years of tradition. One collection keeping it alive.

Most people never think twice about the metal that sits against their skin all day.
For 3,000 years, copper was the one people kept coming back to. Egyptians shaped it into jewellery. Romans wore it on their wrists. Generations of women wore a band of copper from the day they married until the day they passed it on to their daughters.
It is one of the oldest jewellery traditions in human history. And almost nobody is talking about it anymore.
We're Jenny & Sue. We've built a collection of solid copper jewellery for women who want something real on their wrist. What follows is everything we've learned watching women put copper on, and never want to take it off.

Copper was worn long before it was a trend
Copper is one of the first metals humans ever worked. Long before gold rings and silver chains, people hammered it by hand into bands, cuffs and bangles.
Every culture that found it, wore it. Egypt, Rome, India, the Celts. It was never jewellery for special occasions. It was something you put on and lived in.
When you wear copper, you're wearing the same metal women have trusted on their wrists for thousands of years.

It warms to your skin within minutes
Copper is one of the best heat conductors on earth. That's why chefs cook in it.
On your wrist, it takes your warmth almost instantly. There's no cold shock like steel, no plastic feel like cheap fashion pieces. Just a solid, weighty band that feels like part of you.
That's the first thing women tell us when their piece arrives. It feels different.

The one thing you put on before your coffee
Most jewellery lives in a drawer and comes out for special occasions.
Copper is the opposite. Women slip it on in the morning and forget it's there. It goes to the garden, the shops, the grandkids' footy and back again.
It becomes a small daily ritual. A moment that's just for you.

Most "copper" jewellery sold online isn't copper
Scroll through any online marketplace. You'll find hundreds of "copper" bracelets for $8, $12, $15.
Most of them are not copper.
They are zinc, brass or steel with a thin copper-coloured coating on top. It looks right in the photo. Then the coating wears off, and you're left with a grey band on your wrist.
| Plated "copper" | Solid copper |
|---|---|
| Coated base metal: zinc, brass or steel | Copper all the way through |
| Coating wears off in months | Colour stays. Patinas. Gets better with age. |
| A magnet pulls on it | A magnet does nothing |
| Never leaves a mark | Can leave a faint green mark, a sign it's real |
| $8 – $15 | What real copper costs |
Every Jenny & Sue piece is solid copper. No plating. No painted base metal.

A 3-second test tells you if it's real
There's one simple test that exposes plated fakes. Hold a fridge magnet to it.
Real copper won't move. Copper isn't magnetic. Pieces with steel hidden under the colour jump straight to the magnet.
Note: some of our bracelet designs have small magnets set into the ends on purpose. Test those on the band, away from the magnets.

That faint green line? It means it's real
Some women notice a faint green tint on their skin after wearing solid copper for a while.
It's completely normal. It's copper reacting with the natural moisture on your skin, and it washes off with soap and water.
Plated pieces never do it, because there's no real copper touching you. Many of our customers see it as the proof their piece is the real thing.

It gets more beautiful the longer you wear it
Solid copper doesn't flake or peel. Over time it slowly deepens into a warm, rich brown patina that's unique to the woman wearing it.
Love the bright shine? A quick rub with a soft cloth, or a little lemon and salt, brings it straight back.
Either way, it's yours. No two pieces age the same.

Over 140 designs, one for every style
Hammered cuffs. Engraved floral bracelets. Braided bangles. Rings, earrings, necklaces and anklets.
From everyday minimal to statement pieces, there's a copper design for the woman who wears pearls and the woman who wears gardening gloves.
"Some things you just feel the moment you put them on."

The gift she'll actually wear
Most gifts end up in a drawer. Copper ends up on her wrist, every day.
Women buy one for themselves, then come back for their mum, their sister, their best friend. It's personal without being complicated, and it suits every age.
Christmas is coming. Order early for delivery across Australia.

It will outlast you, and that's the point
Solid copper doesn't rust, doesn't peel and doesn't break down. A piece bought today can be worn for generations.
Darker now. Patinated. Marked by years of skin and sun and life. Passed from mother to daughter.
This isn't fast fashion. It's something to keep.
Find the piece you'll never want to take off
Prices are already reduced. When a design sells out, it's gone.

"We hope each piece finds the wrist it was made for."
